EDI Policy

Scope

This policy addresses discrimination based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and/or belief, sex, or sexual orientation, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

Boiler Finance Guys acknowledge the distinctions between the physical sex and gender assigned at birth and an individual’s gender identity/expression. Therefore, this policy also encompasses discrimination based on a person’s gender identity.

Commitment

Boiler Finance Guys expects all its team members and the broader community to treat others equitably, with dignity and respect. Individuals who believe they have experienced discrimination, harassment, or bullying have the right to file a complaint free from victimisation or fear of retaliation. Please refer to staff and candidate policies for the appropriate procedure to follow.

Responsibilities

Everyone affiliated with or working for Boiler Finance Guys is accountable for promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI). The Managing Director ensures the full implementation of this policy. The Director of People & Culture is responsible for executing Boiler Finance Guys’ strategy regarding equality, diversity, and inclusion for staff. In collaboration with the Executive team, they also oversee the alignment of Boiler Finance Guys’ content and operational activity with EDI principles.

Implementation, Monitoring, and Review

This policy will be executed through an Equality and Diversity Committee, with progress regularly reported to the Executive Management Team. The impact of this policy will be assessed through monitoring. The People & Culture Director will collect and analyse staff monitoring data, reporting annually to the Executive Management Team. The Quality and Standards Department will coordinate the collection and analysis of candidate monitoring data. The Marketing Team will establish and uphold measures to ensure that Boiler Finance Guys’ content aligns with the provisions outlined in this policy. Regular reviews will be conducted to reflect best practices and current legislation.

Training

All staff members are mandated to participate in EDI training relevant to their role, with new staff required to undergo EDI training as part of their induction.

Notes

The Director of People & Culture owns this policy and is subject to review at the discretion of Boiler Finance Guys’ Executive and/or as required by changes to legislation.
